About questions

One important way to obtain information during takeoff is by including questions in your models. The answers to questions can feed values to all or some of the fields in the items and assemblies. Furthermore, the answers to questions in formulas can provide values for calculations and set conditions that determine the correct value for a field.

You can create yes/no, text, numeric, and lookup questions for your model. In addition, for each question you can:

Set up default replies that will appear during takeoff.
Assign the question a name.
Include a helpful memo describing the expected response.
Enter maximum and minimum values for input (numeric and text questions only).

Tip: After you set up your questions, you can print the Model Database report from the Database > Reports menu to check them.
