Developing naming guidelines for item tables
An item table returns the appropriate item to the assembly
based on your input for one or more variables (or formulas) during takeoff.
When developing naming guidelines for item tables, keep the
following tips in mind:
- Make names as descriptive
as possible to help you remember the purpose of the table. The name should
describe what type of items are returned by the table.
- You can group item tables
together on lists based on the type of items they return. For example,
to group item tables that return stud items, start their names with the
word, "Studs":
Studs - Metal
Studs - Wood
Similarly, you can group item tables that return concrete
block items by starting their names with the words, "Concrete Block":
Concrete Block - 8"
Concrete Block - 10"
Concrete Block - 12"
- Note that table names are
case sensitive.
- For readability, enter table
names using initial capital letters.
