Accumulating material sales taxes

With the proper setup, you can accumulate material sales taxes automatically as you take off material items. This involves indicating which material items are taxable and creating an addon to calculate the taxable amount.

To accumulate material sales taxes:

1. For each material item, select the Taxable option for its Material category (Data tab > Phase/Item group > Items, or in classic view, Database menu > Items).
2. Create an addon called Material Sales Tax. Choose Category as the cost basis and select the Material and Taxable only options.
3. Insert the Material Sales Tax addon into the Totals window for the estimate.
