Estimate Database Summary window

Use this window to view a summary of the selected estimate database, including the available size and the corresponding SQL Server version.

The database size is limited in the Express version of Microsoft® SQL Server® to 10 gigabytes (GB). If you installed the Express version of SQL Server, Sage Estimating automatically creates a new estimate database and begins storing new estimates in the new database when the limit is reached. To avoid unplanned creation of new estimate databases, Sage recommends checking the Estimate Database Summary window frequently to confirm the amount of remaining memory in your estimate databases.

To open this window, right-click any estimate database listed in the Estimate Catalog pane, and then click Retrieve estimate database info.

This window displays the following information:

Items in the Estimate Database Summary window
Item Notes
Server Name of the SQL Server instance ("server") where the estimate database is stored.
Server edition The SQL Server version.
Sql Express edition Indicates whether or not (Yes or No) the estimate database is stored in an instance created with SQL Server Express limitations.
Database name Name of the currently selected estimate database.
Database max size

Maximum allowed size of the estimate database.

In the SQL Server Express edition, the maximum allowable size is 10 GB. In the standard version of SQL Server, the size is unlimited.

Database size Current size of the estimate database.
Database space used Total amount of the available database that has already been consumed.
Total estimates Total number of estimates already stored in the estimate database.
Average size per estimate

The size of the average estimate stored in the estimate database. This value, in combination with the Database max size and the Database space used values, provides a rough indication of how many more estimates you can store in the estimate database.

For example, if the Average size per estimate is 1 megabyte (MB), the Database size is 22.25 MB, and the Database space used is 10 MB, you can create approximately 12 more estimates of comparable size (consuming the remaining 12 MB of available space).

Available line count per estimate Total number of data lines that can be created in each estimate at the current average size.
