Learning about estimate security

The Estimating Management Console automatically turns on estimate security for the estimate database. This estimate security prevents unauthorized access to your estimates and other Sage Estimating features by requiring you to define a list of authorized operators and their individual task or feature permissions.

If desired, you can turn off estimate security.

1. Click [Security] at the top of the Estimating Management Console.
2. Right-click the estimate database in the Catalog pane (left-hand pane).
3. Select Turn security off.

Turning off estimate security allows all Sage Estimating operators to access all Sage Estimating estimates and features. You can turn on estimate security again at any time by right-clicking the estimate database in the Catalog pane, and then selecting Turn security on.
