Sage Estimating Database Installer window
Use this window to install sample and commercial databases and activate commercial databases for use with Sage Estimating.
If you maintain your own item list, you can also install one or more of the "shell" databases that come with Sage Estimating. These databases include standard CSI phase codes, but no items. You add your own items to the standard phases either manually or by importing items from an Excel spreadsheet.
After installing and activating your databases, the database list you generate appears on the Standard Databases tab.
You can open this window at any time in the Estimating Management Console by clicking [ ].
-
From any tab in the Estimating Management Console, click [Install Databases].
The Sage Estimating Database Installer window opens automatically.
The Registration name box displays the name you used to register the software.
- Select the type of database you want to install and activate from the category list:
- Sample databases contain sample data and do not require an activation code.
- Shell databases include standard CSI phase codes (no items) and do not require an activation code.
- Optional, Advanced Assembly, and industry-specific databases (including Means) require an activation code.
A corresponding list of all databases of the selected type that are available for installation on the selected instance appears in the left-hand pane.
Note: The list of available databases is determined from the database support files loaded on the computer or server where you initially installed the Sage Estimating software.
-
Select one or more databases you want to be available for use in Sage Estimating and click the right-arrow button to move them to the Databases to install list.
You can also click the left-arrow button to move selected databases from the Databases to install list back to the left-hand pane.
Notes:
- Databases appear on the Standard Databases tab of the Estimating Management Console after you install them.
- If you select a database that was installed on the selected SQL Server instance previously, the database name is appended with a five-digit sequential number. For example, if you select the SampleExtendedConMas database, and it was installed by a previous user, the database is added again as SampleExtendedConMas_00001.
-
Type the activation code in the Activation code box for each database in the Databases to Install list.
Databases that do not require an activation code (such as sample databases) do not display a corresponding Activation code box. You can find the activation code for each database listed on the original shipment's packing list.
-
Click [Install].
-
When the results window appears, click [Close].
-
Repeat steps 1-6 for any databases you want to install on other computers or servers.
