Deleting lines from the model

Before you begin

If you have not already opened the Model window and selected the model you want to work with:

  1. On the Database menu, click Models.

    The Model window opens.

  2. Click The List (ellipsis) button and then select the model you want to work with.
  3. Click [OK].

When you click on a line in an existing model, Estimating refreshes the current variables from the items and assemblies in the database. If it encounters any changes made to the database since you last loaded the model, it asks you if you would like to run Check Model.

To delete a line in a model:

  1. Select the line header of the line you want to delete.
  2. To select a series of lines, click the header of the first line, and then hold down the Shift key while you click the header of the last line.
  3. Right-click on the line header and select Delete Line #, where # is the number of the line selected.
  4. When the confirmation message displays, click [Yes] to delete the line.

Tip: Estimating warns you if deleting a line will affect any other questions or question formulas in the model. From the warning, click [View Affected Lines] to open the Questions in Use window where you can view a list of the questions or question formulas that use the line you have selected to delete.
