Choosing an assembly for takeoff

Use one of the following methods to load the items into the takeoff grid:

  • Double-click on an assembly in the list.
  • Select an assembly, and then press Enter.
  • Select and drag an assembly from the list to the takeoff grid.

Tips:  

  • Before you start, you may want to set up a default location or work breakdown structure (WBS) for these items.

  • If you insert items into the assembly after you specify the takeoff quantities, any additional calculations are applied to all items in the takeoff grid. Example

    For example, you could set up work breakdown structures (WBS) to store a bid item number, estimator, or department for each item.
