Customizing an assembly for an estimate
After choosing an assembly, make any changes that may be necessary for a unique situation. You can substitute, insert, and delete items in the assembly as well as change any of the other information in the takeoff grid or adjust the labor and equipment productivity. Your changes apply to this estimate and do not affect the assembly in the standard database.
Tips:

To replace one item with another, select Substitute Item on the shortcut menu.
The Item list opens at the selected item so you can easily find a similar item to substitute.
- List Items on the shortcut menu opens the Item list so you can add items to the assembly.

To add a one-time item to the assembly:

On the ribbon, on the
tab, click . -
In classic view click .

- To remove an item from the assembly, select the row, and then press the Delete key.
- Click [Notes] to enter additional information in the assembly note.

Edit or change the assembly description in the variable pane.

- After customizing the assembly, you can save it as a new standard database assembly.
