Variable / Formula List window

This window provides a list of formulas or variables from which you can select a condition for a formula table or item table. It opens in the following situations:

  • When you create a formula table or an item table.
  • When you add a second condition to a formula table or item table.

Note: Item tables are available only with a Sage Estimating (SQL) product license. (They are not available with Sage Estimating Essential.)

The list displays either formulas or variables from which you can select when you are building your table. To change the display, change your selection in the List type box to Variable or Formula, depending on the type of list you want to display.

If a variable or formula that you want to use in your table does not exist, you can add it "on the fly," as follows:

  1. Click [Create Variable] or [Create Formula].

You can also right-click anywhere in the list, and then select Create Variable or Create Formula from the shortcut menu.

  2. In the Adding Database Variable or the Adding Database Formula window, enter properties for the new variable or formula.

  3. Click [OK].

After you select a variable or a formula, you return to the parent window where you edit the formula table or item table.

Tips:

  • To locate a particular formula or variable, type the name or part of the name of the variable or formula in the box, and then click [Search]. The resulting list is filtered to include only variable or formula names that include the characters you typed.
  • To display a Search box for the Variable (Select only) grid if it is not visible, press Ctrl + F.
  • Double-click to select an entry for the condition.
