Edit Database Units window
You use the Edit Database Units window to define valid units for items in an open standard database.
You also use this window to select valid units when you are working with items in a database.
- Display the Database Items window:
On the ribbon, select the Data tab, and then from the group, click .
In classic view, select

Display the phase and item for which you are adding or editing units.

Open the Edit Database Units window:

Click the [
] button. -
Click

To add a new unit value:
- Click [ ]. to create a new row in the grid.
- In the Name column for the new row, type up to eight alphanumeric characters to identify the unit.
- If you are defining a unit of time, in the Type column, select the time (such as week, crew hour, and so on) from the list.
- In the Description column, type a description to help you to remember how this value is used when you need to select a unit, later.
To edit an existing unit, simply type a new name, type, or description for the unit.
To delete an existing unit, click the row indicator to select the unit you want to delete, and then click [ ].

When you have finished adding and editing units for the selected database item, click [Edit Database Units window.

After adding database unit values
You can export the list of values to Microsoft Excel, where you can use that program to easily edit the list. You can then import the values back into the database.
