Linking item prices in the standard database

You can create price links between two or more items in the standard database. The advantage of linking prices is that changing the price of one item automatically updates the price of all other items linked to that item.Example

To create a price link:

1. Open the Database Item window.

   • On the ribbon, from the Elements group on the Data tab, click Items.
   • In classic view, click Database > Items.
2. In the Database Item window, click and then select the item you want to link to other items.
3. On the Links tab, click [Link] under the desired category. You can link unit prices for labor, material, and equipment categories.
4. In the Add Price Link window, select the items you want to link.
5. To create a new group of linked items, double-click one or more items in the list. A blue check mark indicates the item is selected for linking.
6. To link to a group of already linked items, double-click an item with a yellow link graphic next to it. Sage Estimating (SQL) automatically selects all other items to which it is linked.
7. Click [OK] to link the selected items and return to the Item window.
