About Auto Sum
The auto sum feature allows you to select a range of items in certain spreadsheet columns, and the sum of those columns appears in the lower right status bar. This is similar to the Copy Sum command, except auto sum totals cannot be copied and pasted to other areas of the spreadsheet. In addition, copy sum applies to only the Takeoff Quantity column, where auto sum applies to all of the following columns:
- Category amounts
- Category quantities
- Category Cost Per Unit
- Labor Count
- Equipment Count
- Total Amount
- Addon Amount
- Grand Total
To use auto sum, select multiple rows in any of the above columns. The total of the selected items appears in the Sum= cell in the lower right of the status bar.
