Entering notes for items

  1. On the spreadsheet, right-click the item for which you want to enter a note, and then click Notes from the shortcut menu.
  2. Enter the note in the Notes window.
  3. Click [OK].

Tips:  

  • Any notes entered for the item in the standard database prefill in the notes window. Changes to the notes in this window apply to the current estimate only and do not affect the item record stored in the standard database.
  • You can also enter notes for an item using the Detail window. To open the Detail window, do one of the following:

    • On the Home tab, from the Estimate Views group, click Details.
    • In classic view, click View menu > Detail Window.

    In the Detail window, click the desired item, click the Notes tab, and then enter the notes.

  • You can print notes on estimate reports, if desired.
