Using the calculator to calculate the takeoff quantity for an item

Calculator window

This window is used to enter the values and operators you need to solve an equation. It contains a single field that prefills with the value from the field where you started. Sage Estimating (SQL) inserts the result of the calculation back into the original field when you click [OK].

To open the Calculator window:

  1. In the Tools group of the Home tab , click Image of the calculator icon in Ribbon view (or click Image of the calculator icon in Classic view on the toolbar in classic view). From a numeric field or cell, right-click and choose Calculator.

Tips:  

  • After entering the equation, click [OK] once to calculate the result. Click [OK] again to return the result to the original field.
  • To open the Calculator window from the keyboard, press F11.
