Setting up a subcontractor from an estimate

When working with an estimate, if you need to assign a new subcontractor that does not exist in the address book, you can add the subcontractor directly from the spreadsheet as follows:

  1. In the spreadsheet, do one of the following:
    • In the Sub Name column for the item for which you want to add the subcontractor, type the subcontractor's name, and then press Enter.
    • In the Sub Name column for the item for which you want to add the subcontractor, open the bid grid, type the new subcontractor's name on a blank line, and then press Enter
  2. At the message asking if you want to add a new company, click [Yes].
  3. Enter the new subcontractor information in the New Company window.

  4. When you finish setting up the subcontractor, click [Save].

    Important! Be sure to save the new address entry before closing the window, or the new name will not appear in the spreadsheet.

  5. Close the window.

    The new subcontractor name appears in the spreadsheet.
