Assigning a role to a user

Important! Before changing a user's permissions, make sure they exit Sage Estimating.

To assign a role to a user:

  1. In the Security window, click the Users tab.

  2. Select a user on the Users grid.

  3. Select a role on the Roles grid to assign it to the selected user.

    The Features grid displays the tasks to which the role has permissions (and users assigned to the role).

    A check mark beside a feature indicates that a selected role includes permission for that feature. If you select more than one role, a check mark indicates that all the selected roles include permission for a feature. A horizontal bar (-) indicates that only roles users have permission.

  4. Important! At least one user must always be assigned to the administrator role.
