Including subcontract bids in your estimates
Sage Estimating (SQL) lets you deal with subcontract work as a routine matter or as a special situation.
- If you regularly subcontract the same work, set up those items with the Subcontract category in the standard database. Then you choose whatever subcontract items you need for each estimate at takeoff. Example
- If you want to subcontract a particular task in one estimate, simply enter the subcontract name and amount amount for that item directly in the spreadsheet. This is possible even if the standard database item has no Subcontract category.
- If you want to store bids from multiple subcontractors for a particular group of items, enter the information for each bid in the Bid Grid (available from the Sub Amount or Bid Grid column). When you choose the subcontractor you want to use, Sage Estimating (SQL) updates the Sub Name and Sub Amount columns in the spreadsheet.
