Searching by keywords in the description

You can locate an item in the spreadsheet or in assembly takeoff when you search for items that match the description that you specify.

  1. Click image\find.gif on the toolbar to open the Find/Go To window.

Note: This command is available for only the spreadsheet or assembly takeoff. If you have a list open, this command becomes the Search/Close Search command.

  2. Mark the Search by description check box.

  3. Enter one or more keywords to search for. Sage Estimating (SQL) will find all the items whose descriptions contain all the keywords entered. Example

  4. Specify the scope of the search.

    • To search the entire spreadsheet from the beginning, select the Start from beginning check box.

    • To start searching the spreadsheet from the current cursor position forward, clear the Start from beginning check box blank.

    • To limit the scope of the search to specific spreadsheet levels, specify one or more spreadsheet levels at the top of the window.

  5. The spreadsheet level fields correspond to the spreadsheet sequence in effect when you start Find/Go To. For example, if the spreadsheet is in the Phase/Item sequence when you start Find/Go To, two fields appear at the top of the window: Phase and Item. Likewise, if the spreadsheet is in the Assembly sequence when you start Find/Go To, one field appears in the window: Assembly.

  6. Click [Go] to start the search.

Sage Estimating (SQL) lists the matching items. You can double-click an item in the list to jump to it on the spreadsheet.
