Company setup pane
Use the company setup pane to:

Add a new company record to your address book.

Edit or view the information for an existing company in your address book.
To display the company setup pane:

Open the Address Book:

In the Estimating Management Console, click [Address Book] on the ribbon.

In Sage Estimating, click .

The next step depends on what you want to do:

To start a new company record, click [New Company].

To view or edit an existing company record, select Companies in the Address Book Catalog pane, and then, in the grid in the details pane, double-click the row for the company. Alternatively, you can expand the Companies list and then select the name of the company that you want to view or edit.

Click to open the Notes window so you can add or edit contact notes for future reference. Use this feature to add information such as a company's return policy or a person's contact preference, for example. |

Company Name |
Type the company name (up to 30 characters). The Sage Estimating (SQL) software displays the name you type in each company list. |
Location |
Type the location of the company (up to 30 characters). For example, you can use this field for companies with multiple locations in the same city. |
Region |
Select the geographical region this company serves. You can add regions to the selection list by clicking [New Region]. The new region is added to the Address Book database. |
Sort As |
Accept or edit the name displayed in the box, or enter the company’s name as you want it to appear in companies list (up to 20 characters). For example, sort as Portland; City of rather than City of Portland. If you enter a company name with an initial "The," it is automatically placed at the end of the name; for example, The ABC Company becomes ABC Company; The. |

Select which address to display. You can choose Street, Shipping, Remittance, or Other address. |
Address |
Type the numerical address and street name (as applicable) for this company (up to 30 characters for each line). |
City |
Type the city for this company (up to 30 characters). |
State |
Type the abbreviation of the state or province for this company's address (up to 4 characters). |
Postal Code |
Type the zip or postal code for this company (up to 10 characters). |
Country |
Type the country or region (up to 30 characters). |

Business Enterprise Type |
Select any or all business enterprise types that apply to this company. If you are bidding on contracts that must meet U.S. government hiring regulations, you can use these fields to track minority and woman-owned business enterprise (MWBE) qualifications. You can run reports and inquiries for companies by each business enterprise type. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). Select this checkbox if the company is a minority business enterprise. If you are bidding on contracts that must meet U.S. government hiring regulations, you can use these fields to track MWBE qualifications. You can run reports and inquiries by minority business enterprise. Small Business Enterprise (SBE). Select this checkbox if the company is a small business enterprise. If you are bidding on contracts that must meet U.S. government hiring regulations, you can use these fields to track MWBE qualifications. You can run reports and inquiries by small business enterprise. Veteran's Business Enterprise (VBE). Select this checkbox if the company is a veteran’s business enterprise. If you are bidding on contracts that must meet U.S. government hiring regulations, you can use these fields to track MWBE qualifications. You can run reports and inquiries by veteran's business enterprise. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). Select this checkbox if the company is a disadvantaged business enterprise. You can run reports and inquiries by disadvantaged business enterprise. Woman-owned Business Enterprise (WBE). Select this checkbox if the company is a woman-owned business enterprise. Inactive checkbox |
Select this checkbox if this company is no longer active. You cannot select an inactive company in Sage Estimating (SQL). However, you can still access the company contact in the Companies list. |
Employees of the company appear in this grid.
Notes:
- You can set up employees for the company by creating person records and adding the company on their record. The name and job title you enter on the person record appear here.
- To enter additional information for the person, you need to edit the person record. To display the record, either select the person's name from the People list in the Address Book catalog pane, or double-click the person's name on the persons detail grid.
- To remove a contact from the grid, you need to delete the contact in the People list.

Primary estimating contact |
Select this checkbox if the person is the primary contact for the company. The primary contact is used on some subcontractor reports. |
Filter icon |
Click this icon in a column header to specify criteria to filter the contacts displayed in the grid. |
Sort icon |
Click any column header to sort the grid by that column. The arrow on the Sort icon indicates the direction (ascending or descending) of the sort. Clicking in sequence changes the direction of the sort or removes sorting from the list. Note: You need to click a column header to see the icon. |
