New Standard Database window

WBS tab

WBS codes are special codes that enable you to attach additional information to each item. You can use these codes to organize the estimate in other sequences and report on items in other ways.

Example:  

Sample WBS that stores a bid item number,
estimator, or department for each item
WBS Name Type Size Unit
Bid Item Detail up to 20 varies
Estimator Takeoff up to 20 none
Department Item up to 20 varies

If you want to copy Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) codes from an existing database, select the database from the list.

To display this tab:

  1. Click [Standard DB] at the top of the Estimating Management Console and then click [New Standard Database], or click the new standard database button (Image of the New Standard Database button on the toolbar) on the Standard Database Catalog toolbar.

  2. In the New Standard Database window, select the WBS tab.
