Check Model report

Checking model integrity

As an additional task, you should check the integrity of your models if you think there have been any database changes since the models were created. This ensures that can generate the model into your estimate with all the correct information.

Estimating makes sure that all assemblies, items, formulas, and variables are still part of the database, that all defaults are within specified limits, and that calculations for items and assemblies have not changed since last checked. In addition, this process removes any unused variable defaults.

Before you begin

If you have not already opened the Model window and selected the model you want to work with:

  1. On the Data menu, click Models.

    The Database Model window opens.

  2. Click the list button (List button) and then select the model you want to work with.
  3. Click [OK].

When you click a line in an existing model, Estimating refreshes the current variables from the items and assemblies in the database. If it encounters any changes made to the database since you last loaded the model, it asks you if you would like to run Check Model.

To check the integrity of a model:

  1. Click [Check Model] on the Model window.

Note: This button is not available if you made changes to the model that you have not saved. Click [OK] to save your changes and [Check Model] becomes available.

      2. In the list, double-click the beginning record for the range. This record appears in the From field.
      3. Move the cursor to the To field.
      4. Click List button to open the List window.
      5. In the list, double-click the ending record for the range. This record appears in the To field.
