About item tables

An item table returns the appropriate item to an assembly based on your input for one or more variables (or formulas) during takeoff.

You can set up an item table with one or two conditions:

  • One dimensional sets up an item table with a single input condition. During takeoff, the item table returns an item based on the entry for that variable or formula. Example

Example: You could set up an item table to return the appropriate stud to an assembly based on the variable that asks about the stud size at takeoff.

An item table with input ranges for a variable stud size and the phase and item returned for each stud size

  • Two dimensional sets up an item table with two input conditions. During takeoff, the item table returns an item based on the entries for those two variables or formulas. Example
