Import Data (Unit Conversions)

You use this window to import a list of unit conversions from a Microsoft Excel file.

The import process:

  • Adds lines for unit conversions item prices that do not already exist.
  • Updates values for unit conversions item prices that already exist. (Values from the import file overwrite existing values.)
  • Does not delete unit conversions item pricesthat exist in the list, but not in the import file. The import process leaves existing lines intact if they do not exist in the import file.

Note: The file format must be valid before you can import the list of unit conversions into the Edit Unit Conversions window. For example, you need to use the same columns as the exported values, any rows that you added in Excel must be complete, and the unit name must not exceed 8 alphanumeric characters.

To import a list of units, you click the [Import] button in the Edit Units window.

When the import process is complete, the Import Data window displays a [View Log] button. Click the button to view a report of the import details, which includes the number of records processed, updated, and added, as well as a list of any errors encountered during the import.
