Assigning a price code to an item

Price codes enable you to reprice standard database items based on their price codes or to report on items in a sequence of your choice.

To assign a price code to an item:

  1. Open the Edit Items window in one of the following ways:

    • On the ribbon, from the Elements group on the Data tab, click  Items.
    • In classic view, click Database menu > Items.
  2. In the phases pane, select the phase that includes the item to which you are going to assign a price code.

Tip: If you want to show only certain phases from a long list of phases, you can use the Search box above the phases pane to filter the phases using a keyword.

  3. On the items grid, select the item.

Tip: For a long list of items, you can use the Search box above the grid to locate the item quickly.

  4. In the Price Code column for the item, type a price code (up to 20 characters) or click the list List button button to select from a list of price codes.

Tips:

  • If your external pricing service is TRA-SER Pro, do not include dashes (-) when you enter the price code number.
  • You can use the Update Pricing by Price Code command to change prices of standard database items with the selected price codes and categories by a specified percent.
