Conversion of labor and equipment units
Sage Estimating (SQL) has the ability to convert the labor and equipment order quantities in the spreadsheet from one unit to another. The conversion occurs automatically when you change the unit in the Quantity or Price column for labor or equipment. After determining the new price per unit, Sage Estimating (SQL) recalculates the productivity and quantity for labor and equipment.
Example: Suppose you want to change the labor unit from hour to day.
Assuming there are 8 hours in a standard working day, Sage Estimating (SQL) recalculates the labor columns as shown below.
Takeoff Quantity | Labor Price | Labor Productivity | Labor Quantity | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Before |
150 units |
20.00 / hr |
0.500 units / hr |
300.00 hr |
After |
150 units |
160.00 / day |
4.000 units / day |
37.50 day |
Two things are required for this to happen:
- You need to specify the standard working hours per day, week, and month on the Miscellaneous tab of the Database/Estimate Settings window.
-
The items must have a time-based order unit (Hour, Person Hour, Crew hour, Day, Person Day, Crew day, Week, Person Week, Crew week, Month, Person Month, Crew month).
Note: You need to have a license to use Crews.
