Data error
You cannot save changes to the Items grid or Phase grid if it has one or more data errors. Such data errors are listed in the Data Errors window.
Before you can proceed with saving your changes, review and resolve each error in the list. Select an error in the list and click [Go To] to locate the error in the grid. Some examples of grid errors and their solutions follows:
| Error Message | Solution |
|---|---|
| At least one cost category must be applicable. | You need to assign the item to a cost code category (Labor, Material, Subcontract, Equipment, or Other). Select the Applicable? checkbox for one or more categories for the item. |
| Null or empty values are not allowed. | A blank cell in the grid requires an entry. Locate the empty cell (typically the Item Code, Phase Code, or Takeoff Unit column) and type or select a value. |
| The value must be greater than or equal to 0 | The indicated cell is either negative or blank. Locate and type a positive number in the cell. |
| The maximum length is { } | The current entry in the indicated cell exceeds the maximum length. Edit the cell to meet the maximum character requires. Typically, the maximum length for a cell is 150 characters but the maximum length for the item code is 15 characters, the price update code is 20 characters, and the phase code is 20. |
| The value must not be less than 0 or greater than 99. | Type a value within the acceptable range. |
