Substitute Item command (assembly)

Use this command (shortcut menu) to replace an item in the assembly for one takeoff operation.

Shortcut menus provide access to commands that you may need to accomplish a particular task.

To open a shortcut menu, point to something in a Sage Estimating (SQL) window, and then right-click it. The available commands vary based on where you are pointing.

Substitute Item is on the shortcut menu for the takeoff grid in the Assembly Takeoff window.

Tips:  

  • The quantity (if any), unit, and calculation method in the takeoff grid remain the same after a substitution. If necessary, you can enter a quantity or use a command on the shortcut menu to change the calculation method.
  • A message warns you if the unit or formula of the substitute item is different from the original item. You have the option of replacing the unit.
