Filtering spreadsheet sequences
You can use spreadsheet filters to restrict the display of items on the spreadsheet according to specified criteria, enabling you to more easily find and analyze estimate data, especially for large estimates. For example, you might want to filter items by a particular estimator in a merged estimate. You could also filter by WBS code to review items of articular interest.
You use the buttons in the Spreadsheet Display section of the ribbon to select and apply a filter to the current spreadsheet sequence and to apply the filter automatically to other sequences in the same estimate and to other estimates when you view them.
Before you apply a filter to a spreadsheet
You need to create a filter using the Edit Spreadsheet Filter Expression window.
For steps to add a filter, see Adding or editing a spreadsheet filter.
To apply an existing filter to the current spreadsheet sequence:
-
In the Spreadsheet Display section of the ribbon, select from the filters list the filter you want to apply.
-
If you want to apply this filter to all the spreadsheet sequences in this estimate and to other estimates that you view, select the pin icon.
Note: After applying a filter, if you edit the estimate, the program will not filter items automatically as you work. This is by design. You will need to select the Reapply Filter button to refresh the display.
