Replace Pass and the QUANTITY function

A warning message appears when you replace a pass if calculations for the assembly include a QUANTITY function.

• NO – leaves the original pass unchanged.
• YES – replaces the pass. In this case, the replacement pass may include different items or may calculate a takeoff quantity that is not the exact opposite of the original pass. Example

You can avoid this situation by setting up a special variable to replace the QUANTITY function in formulas.

1. Cancel the assembly takeoff.
2. Create a <QTY> variable to use in place of the QUANTITY function.
3. Edit the assembly and items to use the new <QTY> variable.
