Attach File window

This window lets you attach a text file, graphic file, or HTML file to an assembly to provide additional details. For example, you could create a Microsoft Word document including a drawing of the assembly as well as a description of its assumptions, a list of its items and item tables, and the properties of the variables used in calculations.

To open the Attach File window:

  1. Open the Assembly window in one of the following ways:

    On the ribbon, from the Elements group on the Data tab, click Assemblies.

  2. Click [Attach File].

For more information, click the Help icon available on the ribbon on the title bar of the window, and then click a field or button.

Tips:  

  • You can record the assumptions and other information in the notes attached to the assembly.
  • Click [Attachment] during assembly takeoff to display the file you attach for the selected assembly.
