Formulas command

Use this command on the Data tab to create, edit, and test individual formulas in the standard database. This command opens the Formula window where you can enter the name, unit of measure, equation, and notes for each formula. Formulas is available only when a standard database is open.

With Sage Estimating (SQL), you can easily create formulas, no matter how complex, using standard algebraic logic. If you attach a formula to a standard database item, Sage Estimating (SQL) uses that formula to calculate the takeoff quantity for the estimate.

Tips:

  • Edit Formula is often available on a button or on the shortcut menu when you are working with formulas in other windows.
  • Shortcut menus provide access to commands that you may need to accomplish a particular task.

To open a shortcut menu, point to something in a Sage Estimating (SQL) window, and then right-click it. The available commands vary based on where you are pointing.

  • Use the Options command if you want the Formula window to remain in add mode after you save each new record.
