Merge Estimate Wizard window

This window contains tabs in which you enter the information that Sage Estimating (SQL) needs to merge selected estimates. For large projects, multiple estimators may work on different parts of the estimate. Each estimator creates an estimate for their portion of the project. When it is time to combine the work into a single estimate, use the Merge Estimates feature to merge the estimates into one estimate.

First, you need to enter a name for the new estimate. In addition to entering a new estimate name, you can enter a master estimate name. If you enter a master estimate name, Sage Estimating (SQL) uses the Estimate Information from the master estimate for the target estimate.

Merging estimates may affect the resulting estimate’s Totals Page. See Totals Page Considerations When Merging Estimates.

For more information, click the Help icon available on the ribbon on the title bar of the window, and then click a field or button.

To open this window, click File > Merge Estimate.

Tips:

  • Close all estimates before using the Merge Estimate wizard.
  • The original estimates remain unaffected by the merge.
  • To preserve pending adjustments when you merge estimates, make sure items are not combined.
  • To preserve Bid Grids when you merge estimates, make sure items are not combined and no ranges are specified for the merge. The operation renames any Bid Grids that have the same name.
  • If several addons in the source estimates have the same number, the target estimate includes only the addon from the first estimate that you selected.
