Repricing crews

Reprice Crews window

Use this window to recalculate the labor and equipment prices for the crews in an estimate. For example, you might reprice crews after updating prices in the standard database or changing rate table or crew information in the estimate. Sage Estimating (SQL) recalculates any labor and equipment prices that were edited in the spreadsheet based on the rate tables specified for the items.

To open the Reprice Crews window:

On the ribbon, from the Repricing group on the Takeoff tab, click Crews.

To be successful, the process requires the following conditions:

  • If you choose to copy standard database rate tables or crews to the estimate, the standard database must contain every resource and rate table used in the estimate. Items with missing crew information remain unchanged, and the reason for each omission appears in the report.
  • The item price in the estimate must not be derived from a lump amount entered for a category.
  • The order unit for items must be a time-based unit.

The Reprice Crews window includes the following tabs:

Tip: If you reprice a crew that has the same total price as the original, but different details, and then you print the Reprice Crews report using the Reprice from Crews option, the report includes a line indicating that an item was repriced, although the total price appears to be unchanged. For example, the original crew might have had one truck for $100, and the repriced crew has two trucks for $50 each. The total equipment price is $100, but the details were changed.

For more information, click the Help icon available on the ribbon on the title bar of the window, and then click a field or button.

Caution! This process makes permanent changes to the standard database. Before you update prices, Sage recommends performing a back up of your data.
