Formula text
Set up the method of calculation (up to 420 characters) for a formula. You can double-click or drag components from the lists to the text box. A formula can contain up to 15 separate variables, functions, (including constants, operators, math symbols, and punctuation), other formulas, and formula tables.
Tips:
- Anytime you edit a formula, be sure to test that it works in the expected manner.
- You can enter constants, functions, math symbols, and punctuation from the keyboard.
- If you need more than 15 components, simply insert, or nest, one formula inside another.
- In the text box, variables are blue, formulas are green, and formula tables are purple.
- Press [F2] to position the cursor in the formula text area.
- A button that lets you edit variables, formula tables, or formulas appears when you click a list or double-click a component in the formula text.
- To resize the text box and lists, drag one of the frames between them.
