Example: The Comparison report can provide an effective way of showing how a project changes from its original scope through several iterations to its ultimate cost. All you need is a series of estimates reflecting the evolution of the project.
- Create a preliminary estimate containing the project as designed.
- Then instead of revising the estimate each time the project changes, make a copy of the estimate and add the changes to that version of the estimate.
- Print the Comparison report, including all versions of the estimate.
The resulting report for the series of estimates would quickly answer such questions as: "How did a 1.2 million concept end up costing double that amount?"
