Edit Spreadsheet Filters window
Edit Spreadsheet Filter Expression window
You use the Edit Spreadsheet Filter Expression window to create a new spreadsheet filter or to edit an existing filter.
You open the Edit Spreadsheet Filter window in one of the following ways:
- On the ribbon, from the Spreadsheet Display group on the Home tab:
- Select an existing filter from the list of filters and then click the Edit Current Filter
button. - Click the Create New Filter button

- Select an existing filter from the list of filters and then click the Edit Current Filter
- If you are working in the Edit Spreadsheet Filters window:
- Click the ellipsis icon in the Filter Expression column for a filter you want to edit.
- Click the [] button if you want to create a new filter.

Select this button beside the Fields column heading, and then select to display a separate column with the programmatic names for the fields. You may need to drag the right edge of the Fields column to widen the column sufficiently to view the field names. |

Columns |
You use the Fields, Operators, Functions, and Unique Field Values columns to select the elements you need to build the filter. You double-click fields, operators, functions, and values in the order needed in the expression. |
| Expression | As you add fields, operators, functions, and values to the filter, Estimating adds each field, operator, function, or value to the expression in the Expression text box. You can edit this text box, as necessary. |
| Expression Errors | If your expression contains any errors, Estimating displays a message in this field. |
| Name | This is the name used to identify the filter. When creating a new filter, type a descriptive, unique name for the filter. |
| Shared | Select this checkbox if you want to share the filter with other users. You can share or make a filter private by entering or clearing the Shared checkbox. |
