Total takeoff quantities

• You can use Copy Sum to total only takeoff quantities regardless of the type of unit values.

• You can select takeoff quantities in nonadjacent or adjacent cells.

  • To select several nonadjacent cells, press the Ctrl key and then select each cell you want. All the cells that you select are highlighted.
  • To select contiguous cells, click the first cell in the range, press the Shift key, and then select the last cell. The entire range of cells is highlighted.

• As you select takeoff quantities, a running total is displayed in a ‘Sum=’ cell in the right corner of the status bar at the bottom of your screen.

• The total in the ‘Sum=’ cell displays the same number of decimals as specified in the Column Properties window for the Takeoff Quantity column.

• To total takeoff quantities at the group level, each selected group takeoff quantity cell must have an amount. Alternatively, you can select the takeoff quantities of individual items of all the groups that you want to include in the overall total.

• Once a total is pasted it is no longer associated with the takeoff quantities cells that were originally selected. If you later make changes to any of those original cells, you need to reselect the cells and reapply Copy Sum to update the total.
