Changing an item description on the spreadsheet
To open the Detail window:
- On the Home tab, from the Estimate Views group, click Details.
- In classic view, click View menu > Detail Window.
When the Detail window is open:

It stays on top of other Sage Estimating windows. To work in another window, simply move the Detail window to a convenient position.

You can float the Detail window or dock it to the outside edge of the Sage Estimating window. For more information, see Docking and Window Positioning.

The fields in the Detail window, which correspond directly to the columns of the spreadsheet, provide an alternate way to enter information.

You can display the full Detail window or just the four tabs. To change the size, drag the bottom border of the window up or down.

Any changes you make in the Detail window apply only to the current estimate.

The first time you open the Detail window in a work session, the Extension tab is on top. After that, the tab last viewed opens on top.

If you combine items on the spreadsheet, an asterisk (*) marks cells that contain a combined value.

The shortcut menu offers commands for working in the Detail window.
