Entering lump amounts in the spreadsheet
Initially, Sage Estimating (SQL) calculates the category amounts based on the order quantity and unit price. However, you may want to enter a quote from a subcontractor or prorate a quoted amount to the items within a level. Sage Estimating (SQL) applies a different font and background color to indicate that lump amounts are entered rather than calculated.
If you later change any value involved in calculating a lump amount or if you reprice from the standard database, you have the option of overriding the lump amount.
- [No] retains the lump amount with the following results:
A changed price, unit cost, or takeoff quantity returns to its previous value.
A quantity recalculates the price and productivity. If labor and equipment have the same productivity factor (see the Detail window), changing the labor quantity also recalculates the equipment values.
- [Yes] recalculates the amount based on the changed value. The value is no longer considered a lump amount.
