Clearing prices from the estimate

You can clear prices from the estimate by category. For example, you may want to clear all the material prices so you can enter quotes from suppliers. Or you may want to clear all the prices in a historical estimate so you can enter current prices.

Before you begin

Before you clear estimate prices, we recommend creating a backup copy of your estimate file.

To clear prices from the estimate:

  1. Open the Reprice Estimate — Clear Prices window in one of the following ways:

    • On the ribbon, from the Repricing group on the Takeoff tab, click Clear Prices.
    • In classic view, click Pricing > Clear Prices.
  2. On the Categories tab, select the categories whose prices you want to clear.

By default, the appropriate category prices for all items are cleared. To limit this to specific phases of items, specify the desired phases on the Phase Range tab. How?

  3. (optional) Use the tabs to customize the Price Update report. How?
  4. Click [OK].
  5. Review the Reprice Estimate Confirmation window.
    • To continue with the reprice, click [OK].

    • To cancel the reprice and return to the Reprice Estimate – Clear Prices window, click [Cancel].

When you click [OK], Sage Estimating (SQL) clears the appropriate item prices in the estimate. (You can cancel the reprice by clicking [Cancel] in the Reprice Estimate in Progress window.)

Tip: If you often use the same settings for clearing estimate prices, you can save those settings as the default for future use. To do this, click [Save Default].
