Learning about the estimate database

The estimate database stores all of your estimates. You can organize estimates in the estimate database according to "branches" or tiers. However, the estimate branches and estimate sub-branches you create are for display purposes only. The structure of your estimate database does not actually change.

Estimates are stored at the same level in SQL Server, but you can display them in branches in the Estimates Catalog.

The Estimating Management Console secures the estimate database by turning on security automatically. You can turn security off if desired. For more information about estimate database security, see Learning about estimate security.
