Selecting a company data folder for Job Cost information

The company data folder contains Job Cost data and other information that is used in Sage Estimating (SQL). You need to select a company data folder to access this information. You do not have to connect to a company folder to work with Estimating. You can enter job cost information and save it to the estimate instead. However, if you want consistent information in your estimates or need to make job information available in other Sage 300 Construction applications, you need to connect to a company folder.

1. In the Estimating Management Console, open the Standard Database Settings window.

2. In the Job Cost Info section:

   1. Select the location of the company data folder that contains your Job Cost information.

      Note: Can't find a folder? You may not have access to the company folders that are used by your accounting department if you do not have a Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate accounting application installed on your workstation. Address Book requires certain program files when accessing databases used by both Estimating and accounting programs. If you cannot find a company folder that your accounting department uses, you can set up your workstation to recognize accounting data folders without installing a Sage 300 Construction accounting application.    2. Click [^] to select the company system name from the list.

   3. Select Sage 300 Construction as the job cost interface type, and then click select Use Sage 300 Construction’s Job Cost data option.

   4. (optional) To configure your database to use the Job Cost data stored in this folder, click [Setup].
3. When you finish making changes, click [OK] to save them.
4. Click [Close].
