Copying and pasting in spreadsheet columns

You can copy and paste columns of values—that is, adjacent values stacked vertically—between the estimate spreadsheet and Microsoft Excel or within the estimate spreadsheet. This can be useful when you want to copy columns of WBS values, for example.

To copy and paste a column of values within the estimate spreadsheet:

  1. In the column or columns from which you want to copy values, select the range of cells that contain the values.

  2. To copy the values, press Ctrl + C or select Copy from the Clipboard section of the ribbon.

  3. In the destination column, select the first cell of the range you want to copy to, and then pressor select Paste from the Clipboard section of the ribbon.

When you paste multiple copied columns, the paste operation begins with the leftmost copied column and continues across adjacent columns.

If a destination cell cannot be updated, the spreadsheet skips that value and continues pasting the remaining values it can update.

You can copy and paste entire columns of values between Microsoft Excel and the Estimate spreadsheet using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V.
