Estimate Notes window

You can enter multiple, named notes for an estimate in the Estimate Notes window. You enter the notes on individual tabs that you add and name. You can also rename tabs, or delete them.

The Estimate Notes window enables you to enter notes for the estimate as a whole. You enter notes for estimate items separately in the Notes window that you open from spreadsheet rows.

To open the Estimate Notes window:

  • On the ribbon, on the Home tab, from the Estimate Views group, click the Notes icon.
  • In the Estimate Information window, click the Notes An image of the Notes button button.

To add a new note:

  1. In the Estimate Notes window, you can add your note to the General tab or on an existing tab, or on a new tab that you add for the note .

  2. If you are adding a new tab:

    1. Click the (+) icon.
    2. In the Name window, type a name for the new note.
    3. Click [OK]. The new tab appears in the Estimate Notes window.
  3. Type your note on the tab.

To rename a note:

  1. Double-click the note tab, or right-click it and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.
  2. Type the new name in the Rename Note window.

Note: You cannot rename the General tab.

To delete a note:

Right-click the note tab, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.

Note: You cannot delete the General tab.
