Data Migration window

Use this window to migrate or transfer Estimating data from a Pervasive database to a Microsoft® SQL Server® database.

To open this window, click [Data Migration] at the top of the Estimating Management Console.

Your Sage Estimating software creates and maintains all estimate, Address Book, and standard databases in Microsoft® SQL Server®. If you have existing databases from previous versions of Sage Estimating, you must migrate (meaning transfer) these databases from their Pervasive database platform to SQL Server.

The data migration process involves three steps. Select a step in the navigation pane or click the forward arrow (to the right of the right-hand pane) to continue from one step to the next. An image showing the Right Arrow navigation button

Step One: Introduction Provides an overview of the data migration process.
Step Two: Settings Select your destination SQL Server databases and perform an automated migration prerequisites verification. See Data migration prerequisites.
Step Three: Select Databases

Select one or more Pervasive estimates, options files, or items databases for migration, and then click [Migrate] to start the migration.

Note: Migrating options files migrates the layouts to the destination SQL Server database.

Step Four: Event Log View a list of all data migrations taking place in the Estimating Management Console and their results.
