New Standard Database window

Use this window to create a new database and specify its default settings.

To display this pane, click [Standard DB] at the top of the Estimating Management Console, and then click [New Standard Database] or click the new standard database button on the Standard Database Catalog toolbar Image of the New Standard Database button on the toolbar.

<server> The SQL Server database server where you are storing the new database.
Database Name

Type a name for the new database, up to 120 characters in length.

The database name appears at the top of the spreadsheet whenever you are using it.

Company

Select a default company to use with all estimates associated with the database.

Phase

Select the suffix length for all phase codes you want to set up in the new database.

Sage Estimating allows nine digits in the phase codes used in the estimating software. The phase code suffix you select appears to the right of each phase code you set up in Sage Estimating.

For example, you if select 3, each phase code will have five characters before the decimal point and three characters after the decimal point (the decimal point counts as a digit).

Time Conversion Specify the number of hours a crew works in a given time period, for crews associated with the database.
Crew Information Designate the default pricing method and the method for reporting labor and equipment hours.
WBS Copy WBS codes from a database that is already established (optional).
