Assigning permissions to an estimate

Unless you selected the global options to allow all users to view or edit all estimates, you can assign permissions to specific users to view or edit individual estimates. For example, you can grant a user permission to view or edit estimate A, but not estimate B. 

Before you start

If you selected Allow all users to view all estimates or Allow all users to edit all estimates, but now want more control over who has access to estimates, clear the relevant option on the Estimates tab.

Important! Make sure that users exit Sage Estimating before you change their permissions.

To assign permissions to an estimate:

  1. In the Security window, click the Estimates tab.

  2. On the Estimates grid, select the estimate to which you want to assign permissions.

  3. In the Permissions grid, find the user to whom you want to grant permissions and then select the desired checkbox:

    • View. Allows the user to view the estimate but not to save changes.

    • Edit. Allows the user to view, edit, and delete the estimate.

  4. If you do not assign permissions for individual estimates, other users will not be able to view or edit an estimate unless they create it or they have administrative privileges assigned through the Estimating Management Console.
