Setting up a new addon in the standard database

Using Sage Estimating (SQL), you can set up a variety of addons, including addons for calculating overhead, profit, insurance costs, and bonds.

To set up a new standard database addon:

  1. Open the Addon window in one of the following ways:

    • On the ribbon, from the Adjustments group on the Data tab, click Addons.
    • From the Totals window, click The Addon button, available in the Totals window or select Edit Addon from the shortcut menu.
    • Shortcut menus provide access to commands that you may need to accomplish a particular task.

      To open a shortcut menu, point to something in a Sage Estimating (SQL) window, and then right-click it. The available commands vary based on where you are pointing.

  2. (optional) If you opened the window from the Totals window, select Database for the Source.

  3. Click [Add].

  4. Complete the fields in the window. You can use [Copy] and [Prefill] for this purpose. At a minimum, you need to complete the Addon, Description, Cost basis, Selection, and Rate fields.

    Tip: A rate can be expressed as a percent or a monetary amount. Example

  5. When you finish setting up the addon, click [OK] to save it.

  6. Set up other addons in the same manner. When you finish, click [Close].
