Extensions tab

This tab contains a grid with the conversion/productivity factor, order quantity and unit, unit price, and extended amount for each category of the selected row. The values are calculated at takeoff based on the units and conversion factor in the standard database item.

You can change information only at the item level. This makes it possible to add categories not previously defined for an item or a one-time item. Changes apply only to this estimate.

The fields correspond to the following spreadsheet columns:

Tips:

  • Click Down arrow to change the order unit.
  • You can use the calculator, or ePlan Takeoff to obtain the correct order quantity.
  • Right-click an item price and select Reprice to <dollar amount> to replace the item price in the estimate with the current standard database price. Note that Sage Estimating (SQL) applies any adjustment factors stored for the item.
  • You can switch the way of expressing the conversion/productivity factor. This inverts the units in the label and recalculates the factor for you. If the labor and equipment productivity have the same factor, changing the labor productivity also changes the equipment productivity. But changing the equipment productivity has no effect on labor.

  • After changing the price of duplicate or linked items, you can restore the previous prices of those items by clicking [Cancel].
  • If you change the amount, it becomes a lump amount, which has the font, and background color set up in the Options window.
  • A red triangle identifies cells that have a pending adjustment. To see a pop-up window showing the original and adjusted values, point to any cell with a red triangle. After you have finalized productivity adjustments, Sage Estimating (SQL) removes the red triangle from the row number cells.
